Please arrive at The Surf Shack 5 mins before your rental time. Most of our heavier equipment is available from the beach so you just need to check-in and get your rental slip from the surf shop. Give this slip to our staff member on the beach to receive your rental.

All the equipment we rent is available to purchase in the surf shop too. We have beginner surf packages (inc. Surfboard, Wetsuit, Fins, Leash, and wax) and a large range of recyclable winter and summer wetsuits.

Our staff have a wealth of knowledge about the area and its surf. What board to buy? Where to surf? Things to do in the area? Anything you need our staff will be more than happy to help!

The Beach

Curracloe’s surf is perfect for beginners so we will have you riding your first wave in no time. It is safe to swim at all tides. Saving Private Ryan was also shot on these sands.

Group Rentals

We can facilitate events with water safety professionals, Health and fitness programs, surf fitness pursuits, large group equipmet rentals up to 80 people and offer discounts for such. Get in touch now to see how we can facilitate you.

He was patient, clear, and really took the time to guide me through everything in order. The conditions were perfect — calm, consistent waves and beautiful weather. The gear was excellent and so warm that I could have stayed in the water for hours! As an adult learner, this time of year is ideal — the beach was quiet, and the waves were just right for building confidence. Great experience with great people Our six-year-old did a 3-day surf camp with these guys in Curracloe in August and he loved every minute of it. The group was pretty big, about 14 kids ranging age from 6 to 12 or 13. The teachers were all super friendly and very thorough in their instruction. The weather wasn't the best and the water was freezing, but the atmosphere was great and he had a ball. Managed to stand up and ride his first wave on day three!
