The surf club

The Surf Club is social, fun and the best choice if you want to surf regularly at The Surf Shack. If you enjoyed your lesson or camp with us then this is for you.

Establishing Wexford’s first surf club in 2014 we train, develop and encourage kids in surfing from ages 6-18. We provide honest and dedicated coaching & we introduce surfing in a fun way.

How It Works

Membership is €100 for a year. Members then benefit from weekend sessions for just €15. You also get discounts on all public lessons, our surf shop & we organise surf trips & outings for our club throughout the year

When It’s On

We run our club sessions every week on Sunday’s at 10:30am-12pm in Curracloe. Here you can meet up with your friends and go for a surf. We also do surf trips, hit up the skateparks, learn about the sea and how to be safe & smart around it. Surf Club is open to ages 6-18.

Pathways

We also offer a pathway for young surfers to work in the leisure and tourism industry from age 16. We work closely with Irish Water Safety and the ASI to run programmes such as Beach Lifeguard courses and Intro Surf Instructor Courses so that teens aged 16+ can find work in Curracloe & abroad.

If you are interested in this, joining the club is an essential part of your development. We teach ASI Surf Wise in our club which is a step by step curriculum in surfing and water safety. We aim to produce surfers that are aware, educated, capable and confident around the sea.

We are experts at showing you a good time. 13 years experience delivering activities and group outings on Curracloe Beach. We always do our best to provide a personal and exciting outdoor experience that you will never forget.

Beach Facilities

Although our school only offers outdoor changing, Failte Ireland have built a top class changing facility with hot showers and changing space just steps from our school.

He was patient, clear, and really took the time to guide me through everything in order. The conditions were perfect — calm, consistent waves and beautiful weather. The gear was excellent and so warm that I could have stayed in the water for hours! As an adult learner, this time of year is ideal — the beach was quiet, and the waves were just right for building confidence. The girls had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. We were well looked after by Harry, Beth and the rest of the team. Great experience with great people Our six-year-old did a 3-day surf camp with these guys in Curracloe in August and he loved every minute of it. The group was pretty big, about 14 kids ranging age from 6 to 12 or 13. The teachers were all super friendly and very thorough in their instruction. The weather wasn't the best and the water was freezing, but the atmosphere was great and he had a ball. Managed to stand up and ride his first wave on day three!
